Celebrate the 500 Year Anniversary of the Luther Reformation in Germany 2017 with imagine

When Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses to the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg on October 31, 1517, he made history. This one event set up not only changes to the ecclesiastical world, but a worldwide "reformation" in politics, economics, science, theology, art and culture that we still experience today. To understand more about who he was, read about Luther's early years. His education and experiences as a young man led to Luther igniting the Reformation. The Diet of Worms was a crucial event since it didn't go as Luther expected. He was called a heretic and escorted back to Wittenberg to face his fate. However, with the help of others, Luther escaped and the Reformation started to become a popular movement. Luther led the reform despite adversaries constantly attacking him. He spent his final years organizing a new form of church that would alter religion forever.
